About
Hi, my name is Artur Paikin. I blog about my life, travels and experiences in English and Russian.
I’m a web developer and traveler. I live on a narrow boat in London, navigating rivers and canals solarpunk pirate style. I love text adventure games, desktop Linux (this is the year), foldable bikes and cyberdecks.
In my spare time, I solder USB power cables to vintage radios and tape recorders, so that I can listen to the music and podcasts on the local FM wave. I also code static blog engines instead of writing new posts, and care about the decentralized web.
Pinned
- Fun
10-minute Brooklyn.js talk about how I’ve fixed a broken intercom in my building by making a chat bot. - Immigrantcast (in Russian). I
co-hosted a podcast where we talked about indie-web, mudlarking and boating, often featuring guests from all around the world. - Koti Home automation system (talk at Queens.js).
- Lettuja static site generator that powers this site.
- Uppy modular file uploader.
- Tipi Coffee
pop-up fussy coffee shop. - Labelmaker image annotation plugin.
